Seven Days in Marrakech

For people who know the difference between decoration and design.

This trip is for:
  • The slow & stylish traveler

  • Gourmet food & wine devotees

  • Hammam ritualists

  • The well-rested over the well-stamped

  • Those who love to browse boutiques

  • Design enthusiasts with great taste

Marrakech has two faces. One is the performative version — the touts, the Instagram riads, the belly-dancing restaurants built for group photos. The other is quieter, harder to find, and worth every effort: a city of extraordinary craft, ancient beauty rituals, and an interior design language that has been influencing Western taste for a century and still has plenty to teach.

This itinerary is for the second Marrakech. It moves slowly, lingers in spas, shops with intention, and eats dinner at tables where the food is the point. The Agafay Desert — a lunar plateau thirty minutes from the city — makes a guest appearance on night five, mostly because the pictures are extraordinary and the silence is something else entirely.

Expect to arrive feeling curious and leave feeling refreshed.

Where to sleep

The Art of Stillness: A Private Sanctuary in the Red City

Ascend beyond the vibrant pulse of the Marrakech Medina and step into a world where time yields to tranquility. This is not merely a stay; it is an immersion into Andalusian-Moorish elegance, reimagined for the modern epicurean. Behind unassuming cedar doors lies a rhythmic architecture of hand-carved zellij and sun-drenched courtyards, where the scent of orange blossoms provides an immediate detox. From the candlelit intimacy of our subterranean hammam to the panoramic rooftop views of the Atlas Mountains, every corner serves as a curated sanctuary designed to dissolve the outside world. This is the "Jewel of the South" experienced through a lens of refined intimacy and soulful luxury.

Arrive & Meet

Afternoon

Your driver will meet you at the airport for a ride to the riad & a smooth check-in. Walk around, unpack & have some mint tea. Watch the light change.

Evening

Cocktails at a local rooftop spot. Wear a cute outfit & prepare to be wowed by the views.

Night

Dinner at Sahbi Sahbi. Designed by Studio KO, Sahbi Sahbi is a high-design culinary sanctuary in Guéliz (Marrakech’s modern side) that subverts Moroccan tradition by placing its all-female kitchen staff at the center of a stunning, open-concept dining experience.

Full hammam · Rest · Nothing on the schedule

The Rituals Day

Morning

Slow breakfast & riad pool. No plans until the hammam. This is deliberate. One of the failures of Marrakech trips is trying to do too much — the city will exhaust you if you let it. A morning of coffee, fruit, good bread, and a good read or a conversation.

Afternoon

The full Moroccan hammam ceremony 3-hour treatment: hammam, black soap exfoliation with kessa glove, argan oil massage, plunge pool, the works. You will emerge with the skin of someone twenty years younger. We’ll do a late lunch at Le Jardin, hidden in a restored riad in the medina with a lush interior garden — palms, tropical plants, birdsong. The point is the setting. Post-hammam, you'll want to eat somewhere that matches your new energy.

Night

Enjoy some free time to rest or explore. We’ll have dinner in the riad tonight, complete with some great Moroccan wine.

The Design Day

Majorelle · YSL Museum · Gueliz Boutiques

Morning

Early breakfast & departure for Jardin Majorelle — first entry slot. By 10am this garden belongs to Instagram, but earlier you may have the cobalt blue walls and cacti mostly to yourself. Majorelle blue is one of the great color discoveries of the 20th century. The garden transitions to the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech, perfectly sequenced. The building itself, is one of the best pieces of contemporary architecture in Morocco. Inside: the relationship between Marrakech and YSL's design language, told through couture, film, and archive. Small and precise. Give it an hour.

Afternoon

The Grand Café de la Poste is a quintessential colonial-era landmark in Guéliz where 1920s nostalgia meets Parisian brasserie chic. Once the French post office during the occupation, it’s now our ultimate lunch destination because its breezy, high-ceilinged architecture and shaded terraces provide a sophisticated, sun-drenched respite from the heat of the day. After lunch, we’ll hit some fabulous local boutiques, including Lalla for handbags, Some Slow Concept for home accessories, Moro for incredible scents & handmade clothing, and Norya AyroN for “urban kaftans”.

Night

After a freshening up at the riad, we’ll head to Le Bistro Arabe for live jazz & dinner - the medina's best-kept secret for a proper night out. A former palace, now a restaurant with a live jazz-meets-Gnawa house band and a menu that takes Moroccan flavors into fine-dining territory.

The Interiors Day

Souks with purpose · Craft & collectibles

Morning

Riad rooftop breakfast & then set out for a day of touring the souks. You’ll start with a local guide to help get your bearings, and then you’re on your own with a list - not a plan. The medina souks are organized by craft: brass-workers in one quarter, leather in another, ceramics in a third. For interiors obsessives, the finds are genuine — hand-hammered copper lanterns, zellige tile samples, hand-knotted Beni Ourain rugs, Fassi embroidered linens. Go with a specific thing in mind (a lamp, a bowl, a throw) so you're not overwhelmed. Bargain confidently but not aggressively. The first price is a starting point. Bring cash.

Afternoon

Terrasse des Épices — rooftop lunch spot. An open-air rooftop restaurant near the spice souk, with views to the Koutoubia and Atlas Mountains. Moroccan salads, good tagines, a bottle of Moroccan white on ice. The city noise is below you; up here it's relaxed and unhurried. One of the more beautiful lunch spots in the medina. Free time to rest or shop on your own for the rest of the day.

Night

Dinner at Flowers (located at the historic Dar Marjana) is a must because it masterfully juxtaposes a moody, high-concept interior with the crumbling, romantic grandeur of a traditional Moroccan palace. The space feels like a high-end European tapas bar dropped into a secret Medina courtyard, offering design enthusiasts a masterclass in how to blend modern, warm lighting and minimalist furniture with ancient, intricate architectural bones. Drop into Dar Marjana after dinner for a peek at the belly dancers and a night cap!

Agafay — the Overnight Escape

Desert plateau · Luxury glamping · Stars

Morning

Late breakfast, slow morning. Pack lightly for one night — the camp provides everything. A small leather bag. The good sunscreen. Your camera. You're leaving the city around 2:30pm so the morning is yours.

Afternoon

The Agafay Desert is not the Sahara — it's a rocky, moon-like plateau 30km south of Marrakech, with the Atlas Mountains as backdrop. For the accommodation, think: modern, with an infinity pool that seems to float above the rocks, beautifully appointed yurts & ensuite safari tents, and staff who understand what hospitality actually means. Arrive in time for the pool, order a cocktail. Do not touch your phone for at least thirty minutes.

Night

Dinner under the stars & stargazing. The camp sets tables outside when weather allows. Moroccan mezze, slow-cooked meats, Berber bread. Afterwards: the Agafay has almost no light pollution. On a clear night, the Milky Way is visible with the naked eye. This is why you came.

The Return & Unwind Day

Return to Marrakech · Second Hammam · Final Night

Morning

Lay in bed for an extra hour and enjoy the quiet. After a generous spread for breakfast, we’ll head back to Marrakech arriving around noon.

Afternoon

Today is your design day - whether its another lux hammam session, last minute shopping, or hitting the ancient sites of the medina with a local tour guide, we’ll work with you individually to make the most of your time without leaving you feeling exhausted.

Night

For something that feels like a private members' club, we’re heading to the Petanque Social Club in Guéliz. It’s housed in a repurposed 1930s social hall and feels like a lush, secret garden frozen in time. It attracts the city’s creative crowd who come for the chilled-out garden seating, excellent cocktails, and a menu that feels fresh and unpretentious.

Last morning, Slowly

Departure · Final farewells

Morning

Enjoy your last Moroccan pancake with argan oil honey and hit the souks one last time to buy that one last thing you can’t stop thinking about. Your chariot awaits for a transfer to RAK approximately 2.5 hours before your departure flight.

Leave the city with full bags, better skin, and at least one thing you're already planning to come back for.
